10 Ways To Create Your Drip Coffee Machine Empire
The Best Drip Coffee Machines
Drip coffee makers can be powerful machines that permit hands-free coffee making. They can be big and bulky, taking up valuable counter space or cabinet space.
The top drip machines feature a simple design and are easy to use. Some have extra features that make your morning cup of coffee more customized, like programmable timers and self-cleaning settings.
1. De'Longhi TrueBrew
The De'Longhi TrueBrew is an all-in-one shop for coffee. It can go from whole beans to a complete carafe with a few presses. It has a built-in burr grinder (taken directly from De'Longhi's espresso machines) that measures the right amount of coffee grounds and compacts them prior to brewing – eliminating wasteful plastic filters and pods.
Coffeee offers a variety of options for your preferred cup size and design, ranging from 3oz espresso-style beverages to 16oz iced coffee, or 40oz of the standard carafe. It dispenses the coffee in your choice of vessel, from large mugs to the tiny espresso cups, or even tall travel mugs that wouldn't typically fit under drip machines. It even makes tea!
Bean Extract Technology is a word that manufacturers love to employ. It "adapts and grinds" beans according to your preferences. However, it's really simply marketing. It's important that it's easy to use, quick and doesn't cause many mess while brewing. It does lack the ability to brew an espresso shot that is either long or short of espresso, and it doesn't come with steam wands for milk. If you're looking for those features, I would suggest taking a look at the Moccamaster KBG Select instead.
2. Cuisinart MultiServe
This is one of the best drip coffee machines on the market. It produces consistently flavorful hot cups of joe that brew efficiently and cleanly using sleek, compact components that are easy to use, and all for a affordable cost.
We also appreciated the simplicity of customizing the making process. By turning a dial, you can choose your cup size (from a 5-ounce single-serving to a full-carafe) and the strength you want and whether you prefer a regular or French press setting. You can prepare cold brew at the push of a button or select from a variety of specialty options like Over Ice and Roasted.
The only issue is that the design doesn't match some of the more sophisticated models we've tried. The rounded Smeg drip maker is, for instance, shaped like an Easter egg and is a nice contrast to the more boxy models. Its narrow opening and slim tank can be difficult to navigate, particularly in the dark when the brew is on. It takes a bit of time and thought to get started in the morning.
3. Keurig K-Cup brewer
Keurig single-serve coffee makers utilize K-cups prepackaged and ready to use, eliminating the necessity to measure and grind grounds and regulate brewing times. These machines can also brew coffee within less than two minutes. This is a lot quicker than a drip machine.
But the Keurigs we've tested have created a lot of mess--much more than drip machines. The spout that pours out the hot coffee leaves a 2-inch splash area that spills out droplets all over the drip tray machine, counter and. And they produce an annoying, loud sound when you're making coffee.

The Keurigs that we tested performed very well, despite the mess. The Smart Keurig K-Cafe is the most sophisticated model, and comes with an easily detachable reservoir, four sizes for K-cups and three temperature settings and a menu that can be customized. It also comes with a safe dishwasher-safe milk frother which can froth skim, whole and nondairy milk. This is an excellent option for those who want to make different coffees every morning, or for families that need the capacity of a larger.
The Keurig Instant Pod is another good choice for anyone who wants a simple single-serve machine that is easy to use. It comes with a 78 ounce tank that can make multiple cups before needing refilling. It can also brew using grounds from your own coffee this is a feature that isn't often seen in the world of Keurig. The controls are straightforward and simple, though the machine communicates with tones and chirps, rather than a screen which makes it difficult to know when a cup is ready.
4. Cuisinart Drip Machine
This reliable, mid-priced model comes with everything you need to start your day. It has a large reservoir that holds 14 cups, and an open window that clearly shows the water level. The large buttons clearly labeled make it intuitive to use. The removable filter and grinder can both be cleaned in the sink. This eliminates the need to brush out the grounds from hard-to reach places. It also has a convenient brew strength selector that lets you pick from three different settings that include strong.
The reservoir also has a charcoal filter that helps to remove metals and other unpleasant flavors and odors in the tap water, which could cause your coffee to taste dry or burned. This means less work, and a more enjoyable cup of coffee.
Another benefit: The programability feature makes it simple to set your coffee to brew at a certain time. Also, the pause button lets you to pour one or two cups of coffee before the entire pot is finished making it, which can be beneficial for busy mornings when you require energy. It also has a sleek and modern design that is more comfortable on the counter in comparison to most boxy drip coffee machines.
5. Ratio Six
Like its older sibling the Ratio Eight, the Six provides a premium experience at a slightly more affordable price and smaller footprint. The single-button controls mimic a pour over, with a precision metered flow of water, and the ideal temperature for coffee. The machine consumes 1400 Watts of power to warm the water and complete the brewing process in between five and six minutes. This is significantly faster than the majority of the less expensive models we tried. The speedy brewing time is largely due to the bloom process, which allows grounds to settle prior to when the shower head delivers the rest of the hot water needed for optimal extraction.
The Six features a shield of heat that is unique in order to keep water at the optimal temperature and to protect the spray head. It is among the few brewers that have been Golden Cup certified by the Specialty Coffee Association, which means it keeps the correct temperature of brewing throughout the brewing process.
In terms of design in terms of style, the Six is sleek and minimal and comes with a stainless steel carafe that sits on the top of a holder for filters that can accept Melitta flat bottom filters. The carafe that is insulated keeps the coffee warm without the need for a heated plate, which helps to preserve flavor.
6. Gevi 10-Cup Coffee Maker
The Gevi is a compact and sleek coffee maker that doesn't occupy much counter space. It produces a delicious tasting cup of coffee. The touchscreen features cute icons that allow you to select one-touch commands. For example you can select Bold or, if you are only making a half pot of coffee, you can choose the One to four cups feature. The machine also allows you to set the timer, and turn the brew cycle-finished tone that sounds audible on or off.
It's nice to have a built-in coffee grinder that lets you adjust the size and the strength of your coffee. It takes a bit of time to learn to use the machine but once you've done it, you'll be able to understand it. It comes with many of the features you would expect to find in more expensive models.
The only drawback is that it can't brew an entire carafe at one time, which can be a challenge if you need to serve multiple people. It's a good choice if you want an espresso maker with a built in grinder and the ability to make different drinks. It has a one year warranty and a great customer service.
7. Moccamaster KBGV
The Moccamaster KBGV is a premium drip coffee maker built to last. It comes with a 5-year warranty and is manufactured in the Netherlands by Technivorm. The elegant glass carafe can be positioned on top of a warmer which keeps the coffee at a consistent temperature for up to six minutes. It can be programmed for a full pot or a half pot and is certified to brew coffee at recommended temperatures and times by the Specialty Coffee Association. It also features a "practically incognito drip stopper," which is a small lever located below the brew basket that stops the flow of coffee if you remove the carafe while brewing.
Although this machine is more expensive than most others on the market, it's well worth the cost for those who wish to enjoy consistently delicious coffee without spending too long in the kitchen. It's easy to clean and all components that are in contact with water and grounds are easily accessible. Although the brewing process is longer than some other models, it's faster than pour-over making. In addition, the Moccamaster's distinctive design, which is reminiscent of tools used in workshops or scientific devices and adds a touch of class to your kitchen.
